Our necklaces come in three standard sizes 13″ (with 2″ extender), 16″ and 20″

Gold filled” (or “rolled gold”) comprises a solid layer of gold (14k) permanently bonded to a base metal, such as brass. The minimum layer of gold must equal at least 1/20th the weight of the total item. It is very hard wearing and under normal wear the gold will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate and is commonly used as a more economical alternative to pure gold. Gold filled jewellery can stay intact for up to 30 years with proper care.

Gold vermeil is sterling silver plated with gold or rose gold plate. As with any plated jewellery, over time plating alloy will wear off, this is due to molecules of the base metal travelling to the top showing signs of wear. With good and proper care, the gold layer can last for a year or even two. Gold Vermeil is better than standard gold plate as for one it is guaranteed to be at least 10 carat pure thickness and when inevitably the plating does wear off, you will be left with a 925 sterling silver piece of jewellery rather than a cheaper alloy.

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver ad 7.5% other metals, usually copper.

All of the jewellery findings in our jewellery are sterling silver, we hand solder our charms and jumps together with sterling silver solder paste.

Your Identity Charm Necklace or Native Collection Piece  will come in a recycled and 100% biodegradable cardboard wallet featuring our Bespoke Trademark Chickpiece logo on a stainless steel tag. Chickpiece is in no way a fundraising company or charity. We care greatly about each organisation that we are championing on our ChickPEACE page and are already in discussions, with paperwork ready to sign, when we feel able to take that extra step. We are not quite there yet but are commited to spreading the word. Our company director makes personal periodic contributions to each individual charity and organisations mentioned in our website but these are not dependant on sales of our charms and would continue outside of the business.
